It has become commonplace to start these circulars by commenting on the impressive expansion of CAFIB. In this text, we now record the marathon conducted by our president, the veterinarian Mariana Campbell, in May and June 2025, across various European countries, analyzing and judging the Fila Brasileiro. Mariana can be considered a native of CAFIB, as she was born and raised among the Filas of the Parque do Castelo Kennel, from her parents, Rosely and Airton Campbell. Since childhood, she has followed our efforts to combat crossbreeding and the forgery of pedigrees with great interest, as well as our commitment to genetic improvement of purebred specimens.

During this journey, over 4,100 kilometers were traveled across Belgium, Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, and Italy to evaluate 52 dogs, of which 43 were approved. In the Czech Republic and Italy, she judged two CAFIB Exhibitions held after the Phenotype and Temperament Analysis.

Her important journey began upon meeting the breeder Daniel Vanhove in Belgium, from where they went to Germany. There, in Bad Winder, she evaluated two Fila dogs owned by Iris Blume and Karl Hupe: Ivo II Vencedor da Jaguara e Fays BE Costa del Lago, both approved. Next, they went to the medieval town of Stabfurt, where, in the locality of Lödeerburg, on the banks of the Bode River, four more dogs owned by Dethlef Brehmer were evaluated: Isthar II Vencedor da Jaguara, Kora II Drachenschwanz Sol de Minas, Max Fazenda Serrano e Xauã VII da Boa Sorte, with only two of them being approved.

The next day, already in the Czech Republic, on the way to Doubravnik, they stopped in Karlovy Vary, a city founded in the 14th century and historically famous for its thermal waters with therapeutic properties. According to legend, King Charles IV was hunting in the area when one of his dogs started chasing a deer. After a few moments, the king and his companions heard the dog whining and went to find it lying in a hot water lake. Upon rescuing it, they noticed that some of the wounds the animal previously had were healed. The monarch, intrigued, decided to enter the water as well, and surprisingly, he noticed that his injuries had also healed, so he ordered the construction of a city in that area. In Karlovy Vary, named in honor of Charles IV, the waters reach a temperature of 73ºC and are sprayed up to a height of 12 meters. It was frequently visited by famous figures such as Beethoven, Wagner, Brahms, Tolstoy, and Marx, and it has been the setting for films like '007 – Casino Royale'. There, Mariana evaluated and approved Warianna Fi-box, by Arnostika Skalicka.
